Historic District
Twenty-two squares, one river and a city that rewards walking slowly. Everything below is within a stroll or a short ride.
Our neighborhood
Thirty acres of live oaks, the famous fountain and a Saturday farmers' market. Our morning run loops here twice a week.
Monterey, Madison and Chippewa Square — where the city was planned in 1733 and where the Forrest Gump bench once stood.
Savannah's main street: independent boutiques, Leopold's Ice Cream (since 1919) and the Lucas Theatre.
Cobblestones, cotton warehouses turned into taverns, the riverboats and the Waving Girl statue.
Contemporary art inside a railway depot from 1853 — and the design school's students shape half the city's cafés.
Open-air market with galleries, live music and the best place to start a ghost tour after dark.
A little further
Victorian monuments under century-old oaks along the Wilmington River. Free; guided tours on weekends.
The 1.5-mile oak avenue is the picture everyone takes home. Tabby ruins of the 1740s estate at the end.
Georgia's beach: wide sand, the lighthouse from 1736 and dolphin tours from the pier. Our shuttle runs Saturdays in summer.
Murals, craft breweries and the food halls of Savannah's creative quarter — best on a Thursday evening.
Our concierge team — and Harper in the chat — will happily book tours, restaurants and tickets for you, and know which square is quietest for a picnic.
